Clean Water & Sanitation
Safe water, sanitation, and hygiene for communities in crisis
Access to clean water and sanitation is a matter of life and death. HopeAid's Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) programs drill wells, rehabilitate water systems, construct latrines, and promote hygiene practices to prevent waterborne disease and protect the health of communities affected by crisis.
Our Clean Water & Sanitation Work
Emergency Water Supply
In the immediate aftermath of a crisis, HopeAid deploys water trucking, purification tablets, and emergency water storage to provide safe water within hours of a disaster.
Borehole Drilling & Rehabilitation
For long-term water security, HopeAid drills new boreholes and rehabilitates damaged water infrastructure -- providing sustainable clean water access for entire communities.
Hygiene Promotion
Knowing how to use clean water safely is as important as having access to it. HopeAid's hygiene promotion teams train communities in handwashing, food safety, and disease prevention.
